After experimenting with Copper burn marks and finding success in my first test pot, i found on the next firing that the burn marks were not as visible. Despite using the same materials and application, the kiln environment was slightly different.

The top bung was left open so there was more oxygen flow, and the kiln also cooled slower. these two variables are what i’m guessing impacted my result and it is something i will adjust in the next firing.

I have also considered re-creating these copper wire burn lines by re firing them in a bisque. Despite this outcome i am still pleased with the result because i really enjoy the clay body i am using.
