Finding inspiration

Heres an example of what a week of experimentation lookS like for me.

My practice is shaped by geology, natural processes, and the physical behaviour of clay. Much of my thinking comes from my time spent in the Coromandel and Bay of Plenty, where coastal rock formations and organic textures have influenced the way i approach materials. This connection led me towards creating locally sourced glazes and incorporating waste products as part of my experimentation. Additionally, i work with clay in a way that prioritises texture and material authenticity, often choosing highly grogged bodies that reveal the sensory qualities of rock formations. much of what I create comes from hands-on experimentation with these materials and finding interest through unpredictability.
