A series of cermaic forms

I focus on decorative home objects rather than functional dinnerware – forms such as vases, trinket bowls, and herb planters. Avoiding food-safe wares allows me to work with a wider range of materials and surface treatments and to keep the emphasis on form, texture, and experimentation rather than utility.

My forms are typically angular and slightly unconventional, but they are always balanced. I often use small handbuilt additions to stabilise or visually counteract shapes that might otherwise feel top- or bottom-heavy. This approach fits well with my preference to clean, structured silhouettes contrasted with textured, unpredictable surfaces.

Most pieces are wheel-thrown with slight alterations, supported by handbuilt adjustments when necessary. This combination allows me to refine proportion while still working responsively to the clay body.

Looking ahead, I want to extend this work into more sculptural directions, particularly through developing taller forms that push both scale and stability within my current material palette.
